Singer-songwriter Alex*Cuba hails from Artemisa, Cuba (1 hour west of Havana) and resides in Smithers, B.C. (14 hours north of Vancouver). Musically, he lives everywhere in between. His trademark sugarcane-sweet melodies, pop-soul hooks and rock chords subtly subvert commonly held notions of what Cuban music is. Alex is on the vanguard, crafting a cross-cultural sound that mirrors his geographical journey. Not tied to tradition, this Cuban-Canadian prefers his vintage Gibson over el sencerro (cowbell) anytime.

Every so often, Chad VanGaalen emerges from his bunker in Calgary with batch of songs, giving us a window into the the private world of this reclusive and enigmatic songwriter. With Diaper Island –out May 17th on Flemish Eye in Canada– VanGaalen distills his approach; here he produces his most sonically cohesive album to date, and the closest thing he has done to a rock album.

Singing with a passion and fervor directly influenced by the classic soul heroes, JJ Grey has written and recorded five albums of original songs steeped in the rhythm & blues, rock, and country soul of his native backwoods home outside Jacksonville, Florida. Grey comes from a long tradition of Southern storytellers and, in that spirit, he fills his songs with details that are at once vivid, personal and universal. After a decade of hard touring, he still spends eight months of the year on the road, bringing his music to a loyal, ever-growing, worldwide fanbase.

Hot on the heels of buzz-worthy main stage performances at Winnipeg Folk Festival, Vancouver 125 in Stanley Park, Home Country Festival and more, Dan will be taking the stage at Hillside and Regina Folk Festivals among others before heading back across the Atlantic for the duration of the summer. Come October however, one of music’s most promising storyteller’s will be hitting the Canadian road to support his first album since the Polaris Music Prize shortlisted and multi-award winning album Nice, Nice, Very Nice.

Tegan and Sara will be returning to their home town of Calgary for two unique shows this summer: July 8th and 9th at Theatre Junction Grand.
Performing with a new ensemble, these shows will be intimate concerts, featuring an audience Q&A component. Every ticket purchased also includes a limited edition silk screened poster, designed by EE Storey, the band's long time art director.
