Zucchero
Zucchero, one of Italy’s biggest musical stars, is set to perform in Calgary in the Jack Singer Concert Hall at the EPCOR Centre for Performing Arts on Sunday March 23, 2014. Born Adelmo Fornaciari, Zucchero has sold more than 40 million albums and won the hearts of fans around the world with his blend of rock, blues and gospel music. In a career spanning four decades, he has built up an international profile by collaborating with artists such as Bono, Sting, Queen, Luciano Pavarotti, Miles Davis, Brian Wilson, Joe Cocker, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton. Zucchero enjoyed his biggest global hit in 1991 with Senza Una Donna (Without a Woman), a duet with Paul Young that charted strongly in several countries, including number four in the UK. He has performed in many of the world’s most beloved venues, including Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Opera in Paris, Milan’s San Siro Stadium and London’s Royal Albert Hall. Zucchero was also invited to perform at Nelson Mandela’s 91st birthday celebration, and has donated his talents to charity events around the world. His most recent album, La Sesión Cubana, brought Zucchero together with some of Cuba’s most important musicians. The album featured seven brand new songs, as well as six newly arranged Zucchero hits. It is another brilliant representation of Zucchero’s broad passion for music, where sounds all melt together.
